The bar is a favourite meeting place for visitors and locals alike, where there is always someone to have a chat with. It is also known in the area as 'a good football and horse racing bar', and there is generally a full house when live matches, Gaelic or soccer, and horse meetings are shown on T.V.

The bar also has a darts board where most Monday's, the Rathcoole darts team play and practice. Every Wednesday night the bar is home to Rathcoole's Bar Putting Competition.
